Pregnancy Massage with a difference

As grateful as we are for the body’s ability to adjust to the baby’s every need we are also coping with postural, hormonal and emotional changes all at once.

Your pregnant body needs to be nurtured and supported to adapt to the changing shape of your muscular skeletal system, spinal posture and the general affects of increased circulation and weight gain in all those new places.

With this knowledge it is well worth considering how you make time for yourself, how you incorporate a self care routine in to your daily life. As part of that self care you could book a bespoke massage at The Birth Nest

One of Abigail’s favourite things to do is nurture women and support them to feel relaxed so the signature service at The Birth Nest really is a Pregnancy Massage with Abigail.

The session is all about pure relaxation, tailored to your exact needs and designed to leave you feeling refreshed, soothed and physically and emotionally comforted.

Abigail will spend time asking you questions about your pregnancy experience to help her understand how you will benefit most from your massage session. There will also be time to discuss any issues or concerns you have about your plans for pregnancy and birth.

It is not unusual to doze off during one of Abigail’s massages as you lay on her pregnancy massage bean bag. Supported by pillows and bolsters to ensure your body feels divinely comfortable, so you can switch off and let go for 90 minutes.

Appointments are available in your own home so there is no travelling, parking or fussing. All you need is some floor space somewhere quiet and a dressing gown to slip on afterwards. Abigail brings all her own equipment. Appointments are available Monday and Friday daytime and occasional evening slots.

The massage session is 90 minutes. and The consultation is up to 30 mins with a chance to chat 1:1 with as as an experienced Doula about your pregnancy and birth plans.  All this for £85

Post natal massages are also available for recovery after labour and birth, it is possible to do these sessions with baby present if necessary.

Why you need a massage in pregnancy

Pregnancy massage is a perfect way to reduce stress and promote general well-being during pregnancy. Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labour outcomes and newborn health.

Massage therapy addresses different needs through varying techniques, it aims to relax muscle tension and improve lymphatic and blood circulation through mild pressure applied to the muscle groups of the body.
